Hi, I’m Lala.

I’m a quilt maker, educator, content creator, and proud mama to twin girls. We call the South Carolina coast home, where you’ll usually find us chasing sunsets, hunting seashells, and making the most of beach life whenever we’re not in the sewing room.

I’m the hands (and heart) behind Lala Sewz, where I transform cherished t-shirts, baby clothes, uniforms, and other meaningful keepsakes into memory quilts that families will treasure for generations.

What started with a sewing machine has grown into something I never could’ve imagined. Today I’m blessed to teach hundreds of thousands of people how to preserve their own memories through quilting, while creating custom quilts for families who trust me with some of their most treasured belongings.

But this business has never really been about fabric.

It’s about stories.

The tiny onesies that remind you how little they once were. The concert shirts that take you back to your favorite memories. The jerseys, uniforms, and sweatshirts that represent seasons of life you’ll never get back. I believe those memories deserve more than a storage bin. They deserve to be wrapped around the people who love them.

My faith is the foundation of everything I do, and I truly believe God gave me this gift to serve others. Whether I’m sewing a quilt, teaching my method, or sharing pieces of my life online, my hope is always the same: to encourage people, love them well, and remind them that even life’s worn-out pieces can become something beautiful.

I’m Ashley — part planner, problem-solver, and behind-the-scenes helper here at Lala Sewz. My background includes years of swim coaching and working in the nonprofit world, where I learned a lot about bringing people together, managing projects, and turning good ideas into something real.

These days, I put those skills to work helping Lala bring her ideas to life and figuring out the details along the way. No two days in Lala Land are ever quite the same, which is part of what makes it so much fun! I love being part of what Lala Sewz is becoming and seeing where the next idea takes us!
